Keren Peled
Co Founder
Keren Peled is an entrepreneur by heart, one of those with many ideas and desire to start businesses and make a difference. Her interests are diverse and go from Science & Math to Art to saving the environment and social justice.
One of her passions is to help others accomplish their goals and inspire them to achieve what it is they are set out to do. She believes that this can get done through mutual accountability in the community, by creating systems that help people help each other achieve goals. Collaboration and inspiration are key ingredients to everyone's success.
We CoCreate started when two close friends, Maya and Keren decided to create an accountability system for each other. Through weekly phone calls and gentle but firm accountability practices. As they began to accomplish more they quickly realize that having the support of their community is a very important aspect of their achievements.
Keren Peled is an award winning jewelry designer and an acclaimed artist with a diverse background.
After completing her degree with honors in Statistics Keren worked as an analyst for a large corporation, while always continuing to peruse her long time hobby. Mostly a self-taught artist, she learned techniques from books and drew on her own experiences with metals. Many people see the detail and patterns in her designs as a direct connection to her mathematical background. The pieces are extremely intricate and require time as well as a mathematical mind to construct. She eventually left the corporate world to focus on her jewelry.
Keren finds her inspiration from the works of ancient cultures such as the Egyptians, Mayans and European. She traveled to Mayan country in Guatemala, Mexico and Belize in search of different textile techniques. Her unique combination of the textile techniques in metals, primarily wire Macramé and Crochet, quickly became noticeable locally, nationally and later on internationally.
Keren began receiving attention in October of 2003, when one of her pieces was selected to be displayed at the National Art Exhibit, at Artisans in Mill Valley, CA. The Exhibit was juried by Marian Parmenter, Executive Director and Founder, SFMOMA - Artists’ Gallery. Peled continued to exhibit her work during 2004 at national and international exhibits in New York, Chicago and San Francisco Bay Area. In August of 2004 Peled received a merit award for her piece “Cleopatra’s Mithreal” at the “Beauty of women” Exhibit at Artisans gallery in Mill Valley.
HGTV’s “Crafter’s Coast to Coast” produced a segment on Keren’s Unique Macramé and Crochet techniques in 2005 (see picture). and in 2006 Keren’s work has participated in two major fashion shows at the prestigious NY fashion week at Bryant Park.
